Peters faces two counts: Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (a class D felony) and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (a class E felony). The investigation, initiated by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), involved assistance from the State Police Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
After being processed at the State Police barracks in Clifton Park, Peters appeared in Halfmoon Town Court. He was released on a bond and directed to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility, pending further court proceedings.
