Residents of Clifton Park were reminded Thursday afternoon of a serious incident when a fire broke out on Grooms Road, displacing several people from their home. The event, which occurred around 4:47 p.m. on April 17th, involved two adults and one child being temporarily evacuated from the property located at 622 Grooms Road.
Fire crews from the Vischer Ferry Volunteer Fire Company responded swiftly. According to reports, conditions upon arrival required them to upgrade the response to a second alarm, indicating a more significant fire situation than initially anticipated. However, their efforts proved effective, managing to gain control of the blaze within approximately 25 minutes.
Following the extinguishment of the fire, crews prioritized ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Fortunately, no one was reported injured in the incident. The displaced residents are currently receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, a testament to community support during this challenging time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
