Saratoga County authorities reported an incident on Wednesday afternoon in Halfmoon involving a driving while intoxicated (DWI) arrest. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40-year-old Albany man, Branson J. Scott, following a crash on state Route 236 around 1:01 p.m.
Scott is facing DWI charges, including impairment from both alcohol and a drug. He allegedly refused chemical testing. In addition to the DWI, he was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage crash, driving unsafely, and being in a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and cannabis.
The vehicle reportedly struck two mailboxes, causing damage. No injuries were reported. Deputies arrested Scott, and he was later arraigned in Mechanicville City Court and released on his own recognizance, with further court proceedings scheduled in Halfmoon Town Court.
