According to recent news, a significant nationwide drug trafficking ring, operating from San Diego and extending its reach into Upstate New York, has been dismantled by the FBI.
The investigation, code-named Operation Crystal Express, uncovered the transport of nearly three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine over several years. While the ring was national in scope, one key member, Daniel Beckerman, is from Ballston Spa, highlighting the reach of these illegal activities into local communities.
Beckerman, along with two others in San Diego, pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to distributing and possessing with intent to distribute a large quantity of methamphetamine. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials hope this bust will help disrupt similar drug trafficking routes in the area.
