A Glens Falls firefighter, identified as Micki Guy, 42, was seriously injured in an accident near the Broad Street Fire Station No. 2 on Thursday evening. Emergency services responded to the scene, and Mr. Guy was transported to Glens Falls Hospital before being moved to Albany Medical Center. He is currently in critical condition.
Officials confirmed Mr. Guy’s identity on Friday morning. Early reports had not provided details on the cause of the accident or the extent of the injuries, asking the public to respect the ongoing investigation. Broad Street was closed between Murray and Mission streets during this time.
Glens Falls Mayor Diana Palmer expressed her support, meeting with Mr. Guy’s family and members of the Fire Department. She stated the community’s hearts are with the firefighter’s family during this difficult time.
