A Glens Falls firefighter was critically injured after falling from a moving fire truck while responding to a structure fire on Wednesday evening, April 9, according to New York State Police.
The incident occurred as Engine 4 pulled out onto Murray Street and turned onto Broad Street. The firefighter, who was in the captain’s seat, fell from the vehicle and received immediate medical attention from responders at the scene.
The firefighter was transported to Glens Falls Hospital and later transferred to Albany Medical Center, where they remain in critical but stable condition. Glens Falls Mayor Diana Palmer expressed solidarity with the firefighter’s family and the fire department.
