A Glens Falls firefighter, Micki Guy, is recovering after a serious incident last week while responding to a call. According to the New York State Police, she fell from Fire Engine 4 during a turn onto Broad Street and was transported to Albany Medical Center with critical injuries. The investigation confirms no criminal activity, but is ongoing. The community is rallying around her and her family.
In response, a community fundraiser is planned for Sunday at Lawrence Street Tavern, with proceeds going directly to the Guy family. Organized by friend and musician Margo Macero, the event aims to raise funds for Micki’s recovery and support for her family during this difficult time.
Over 200 people are expected at the benefit, which will require street closures on Lawrence Street and surrounding areas (between Cooper and Lawrence, extending to Walnut, Leonard, Dix, and Maple Streets) starting at 1:30 p.m. for safety. Parking will be available nearby, and the event is expected to wrap up by 5 or 6 p.m.
