St. John Fisher College’s Emma Sweazy earned a big honor this week! The Cardinals’ standout golfer was named the Empire 8 Women’s Golf Co-Player of the Week, announced Tuesday. This marks her fourth time receiving this award this season, showing her consistent excellence on the course.
As part of the Cardinals’ successful weekend, Sweazy played a key role in their second-place finish at the Northeast Women’s Golf Conference Championship. The tournament took place at the Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, New York.
Competing against tough opponents, Sweazy tied for second place with Nazareth’s Bethany Wineburg. She finished with a total score of 19-over-par 163 strokes, three strokes behind the champion, Giana Milazzo. Sweazy shot rounds of 82 and 81 during the championship. This was clearly a well-deserved recognition for her outstanding performance.
