Union College senior captain Stephanie Bourque has earned the prestigious ECAC Hockey Wayne Dean Sportsmanship Award! The award, established in 2022 in honor of Wayne Dean, recognizes outstanding sportsmanship and integrity, qualities he embodied throughout his career in collegiate hockey.
Bourque is known for her immense dedication to the team, consistently going above and beyond with extra practice sessions, strength training, and actively seeking coach feedback. Her work ethic is just one aspect of her impact; she also leads by example, encouraging teammates and fostering a collaborative team-first mindset both on and off the ice.
Off the ice, Stephanie exemplifies respect, kindness, and humility towards teammates, faculty, staff, and media. Her commitment extends to her academics, where she has earned ECAC All-Academic honors, demonstrating a well-rounded character that aligns perfectly with the spirit of the Wayne Dean Award.
