Two standout performers from the North Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse scene this week are co-Players of the Week. Maine Maritime Academy senior Trey Marcil from South Glens Falls scored 11 goals and five assists over two games, while helping his Mariners to a strong 2-0 record. Husson University sophomore Dominic Hollenkamp also shone brightly, recording a game-high five goals in a crucial comeback victory over SUNY Delhi.
Husson’s success continued on Saturday with another award winner. Junior long-stick midfielder Owen Giorgio earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after a standout performance in the Eagles’ 12-9 win against SUNY Delhi. Giorgio led the team with 11 ground balls and also chipped in offensively with two goals and two assists.
The Mariners once again had a reason to celebrate, as freshman Ryan Parent claimed Rookie of the Week accolades. Parent put up 10 goals and seven assists over two games, showcasing impressive offensive potential for Maine Maritime Academy. Meanwhile, two local athletes, Bryce Crowell and Owen Lyons, were named to the Honor Roll.
