The Skidmore College women’s tennis team capped off their 2026 regular season with a decisive 7-0 victory over Ithaca, clinching the fourth seed in next weekend’s Liberty League Tournament with this impressive sweep.
The Thoroughbreds started strong, winning three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before dominating the singles court to finish the match decisively. Standout performances came from several first-years, including Ginevra Muratori, Amelie Gonzalez, Ellie Lake, Mia Rosenberg, and sophomore Maggie English.
Head coach Curt Speerschneider praised the team’s hard work and looks forward to the playoffs, stating the team is “peaking at the right time.” Skidmore will next face fifth-seed Union in the first round of the Liberty League playoffs on Friday at 2:15 PM.
