Bromfield Acton-Boxborough’s rowing team brought home strong results from the recent Saratoga Invitational, securing three silver and three bronze medals at the prestigious East Coast event held across Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs. With over 900 crews competing, the team showed impressive consistency, with some boats medaling on both racing days.
The unusually calm conditions during the regatta were particularly beneficial for the rowers. Coach Chris Whitbeck noted the lack of wind and minimal waves, a rarity at that location, gave the team, who had faced limited water time due to low pond levels, a valuable opportunity to practice and refine their racing skills.
Looking ahead, the team will compete at the Bare Hill Fun Regatta this Sunday, May 3, before heading to Lowell for the Amber Zapatka Memorial Regatta on May 9 and 10. Their strong performance in Saratoga has clearly boosted momentum for the upcoming season.
