The Union College men’s crew team had a fantastic performance at the New York State Championships in Saratoga Springs this weekend! They competed against some tough Division I, II, and III programs on Fish Creek’s six-lane course.
Showing impressive power, the Frosh/Novice 8+ boat claimed the gold medal, winning their race and beating out Merchant Marine Academy by over 20 seconds. Sophomore Elizabeth Canaveral was the coxswain leading this talented first-year crew.
In the Varsity 8+ race, the team earned a spot in the Grand Final after a strong showing in their first heat, finishing third. Their Grand Final placement was fifth, while the 2nd Varsity 8+ boat placed fourth overall.
The team returns to Saratoga Springs next week for the Liberty League Championships.
