The Franklin & Marshall College men’s rowing team got off to a strong start to the spring 2026 season at the Skidmore Sprints regatta in Saratoga Springs, competing against their hosts. The Diplomats showed impressive form, particularly in the Varsity 8+ event.
In a tight race, F&M’s Varsity 8+ crew finished just one second behind the nationally ranked Skidmore team, placing second overall with a time of 6:17.8. Head Coach Bob Brady praised the performance, calling it “incredibly strong” and noting the team got out in front before ultimately losing by a narrow margin.
Meanwhile, the Diplomats’ second Varsity 8+ team marked their debut together in a dual race against Skidmore, finishing with a time of 7:22.5. Coach Brady highlighted it as a promising start for some newer rowers on the team.
The Diplomats are now heading to the Knecht Cup regatta in New Jersey next weekend to continue their spring schedule.
