Ralph Ambrosio, who previously ran for Albany County District Attorney and was unsuccessful, is now stepping into the congressional race, seeing it as a duty to potentially bring change to the traditionally progressive district.
Ambrosio brings a diverse background to the race, having served as a state trooper, assistant general counsel for the State Police, and an assistant district attorney. He believes the congressional district has Republican communities and a message he can share, despite Tonko’s 17 years in office and his strong progressive stance.
Ambrosio’s platform focuses on “affordability” through lower taxes and reduced government regulations, aiming to ensure the federal government focuses only on its core responsibilities. He promises to tackle local issues, like the recurring flooding on the Mohawk River, by working with agencies like the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers, hoping to engage Saratoga County residents in this significant local election race.
