This exciting development, discussed at a recent gathering with city officials and leaders, promises significant improvements in internet speed and reliability, boosting the city’s economic competitiveness.
SLICFiber CEO Kevin Lynch highlighted that their service offers symmetrical upload and download speeds (up to 2GB), dependable phone service, and the unique advantage of being unaffected by power outages. Unlike traditional cable, their fiber infrastructure provides better performance during peak times and long-term scalability, marking a significant upgrade for our digital infrastructure.
This initiative, actually starting in November 2022, has been carefully planned. After years of working with local leaders, SLICFiber recently secured the necessary permits and begins infrastructure deployment this year. Residents in the Geyser Crest neighborhood already have access, and residents everywhere can sign up now, with more areas coming online as construction progresses.
