Get ready for another fantastic day of giving back to our local environment! This Saturday, join the 15th annual Hudson River Sweep, a statewide initiative organized by Riverkeeper dedicated to keeping our river healthy. Saratoga County has two great opportunities to get involved and make a difference right here in our community.
First, head to the Betar River Walkway in South Glens Falls starting at 10:45 a.m. Common Roots Brewing Company is hosting their fifth annual cleanup along this beautiful Hudson River path. Meet at the Biergarten on Saratoga Avenue, get assigned to a cleanup zone, and help remove debris. A special perk for volunteers aged 21 and over is a complimentary beer from Common Roots – a perfect way to enjoy a sustainable day out!
Alternatively, you can lend a hand at Hudson Crossing Park in Schuylerville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is their third year participating in Sweep. The cleanup goes beyond just debris – volunteers will also tackle invasive species removal and plant native vegetation. Gather at the pavilion near the parking lot past Lock 5 on the Champlain Canal. Hudson Crossing Park’s event promises a full day of impactful volunteer work.
Pre-registration is recommended for Hudson Crossing Park, but everyone is welcome at the Betar River Walkway event. Whichever spot you choose, your efforts will contribute significantly to the health and beauty of our shared river resources. Mark your calendars for this Saturday and join us in making a difference!
