The popular health-focused bakery, The Sweetish Chef, announced today that it will close its Ballston Spa storefront located at 76 Front Street. Owner Britt Young shared the difficult decision in a social media post, citing rising costs, economic pressures, and personal reasons as factors in the closure.
However, the business will not be disappearing entirely. Young confirmed that while the Front Street location is closing its doors on May 1, the online ordering service and local pickup options will continue. “You can still place orders online, and there will be pick-up options available so you can get your goodies without missing a beat,” Young stated, assuring fans that the treats are still accessible.
Known for its delicious grain-free, sugar-free, low-carbohydrate, gluten-free, and diabetic-friendly baked goods, The Sweetish Chef has been a favorite spot for specialty treats. Young expressed her gratitude for the support received over the past five years, calling the Ballston Spa community “incredible.” She framed the closure as a positive move to relocate closer to home, explaining, “It’s honestly some really good news for me. I’m moving!” This marks “a change of address,” not a farewell, for those seeking their specialty sweet treats.
