Nancy Newbern, a beloved resident of Queensbury, NY, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in 1959 and raised in Lake George, Nancy attended Lake George High School and earned a degree in Liberal Arts from Adirondack Community College. Before retiring, she worked at Glens Falls Hospital and previously served as a reporter for The Post-Star, contributing to the local community for many years.
Throughout her life, Nancy found immense joy in music, animals, and nature. Her creative spirit was evident in her love for singing and her unique artistic style using various mediums. She cherished her time on Lake Sunnyside and was deeply fond of her companion dogs, Spot and Abby. Nancy also visited Hawaii multiple times, immersing herself in its beauty and culture.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Aspen Star Forman, son Tristan L. Verra, brothers Brian J. Bowman and Lonnie Rumpf, and sister Caroline Wright of Keaau, Hawaii. She is also survived by cousins, aunts, and many dear friends. A memorial service was held at Pine View Cemetery to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, donations were suggested for Northway Animal Emergency Clinic.
