Joseph Francis Mulcahy, a lifelong resident of Glens Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023, at age 82, just weeks after the passing of his beloved wife Barbara Ann (Noonan) Mulcahy, whom he married for 49 years. He is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose life was centered around his family and community involvement in the Glens Falls area.
Known for his career in commercial consumer relations, Joseph worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 34 years before retiring and later worked at The Hyde Collection until 2022. A decorated U.S. Army Reserve veteran who served six years, Joseph was also a dedicated member of the Glens Falls Equity Builders Investment Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #194 for many years, most recently as club president.
Throughout his life, Joseph enjoyed a rich array of interests, from listening to jazz music and cheering for his favorite sports teams to driving his Corvette convertible. He shared countless memories with his wife on their world travels and with his sons and grandsons on family adventures. Joseph’s love for his family and community was boundless, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
