Joseph Francis Mulcahy, a beloved resident of South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 8, 2023, surrounded by his sons. Joseph, who was 82, was married for 49 years to the late Barbara Ann (Noonan) Mulcahy, whom he lost in 2014. He leaves behind his three sons and five cherished grandchildren, as well as his sister, Patricia A. Sweeney, and was preceded by his parents James V. Mulcahy and Eleanor M. (Lareau) Mulcahy.
Joseph was a proud lifelong resident of Glens Falls, graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in 1959. He served his country for six years in the U.S. Army Reserve before dedicating 34 years to Niagara Mohawk Power Company in Commercial Consumer Relations. He continued his work at The Hyde Collection until recently. He was actively involved in community organizations like the Glens Falls Equity Builders Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #194 for many years, even serving as club president.
Known for his love of jazz, sports, driving his Corvette, and traveling the world with his wife Barbara, Joseph was a devoted family man and a lifelong Catholic at St. Mary’s Church.
