Elizabeth “Betty” Rollo, a long-time resident of Glens Falls for 57 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Shaker Place Nursing Center in Albany, just before her 94th birthday. She was 93. Betty was a familiar face in the community, known for her warm smile and dedication to her family and faith.
Born in Fort Edward, Elizabeth graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1947. She married Leonard A. Rollo on December 2, 1951, and together they built a life in Glens Falls for over four decades until his passing in 1993. Professionally, Elizabeth worked at Marinette Paper Company and later at Abbott Securities, but her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly raising her three sons. She was also a steadfast member and volunteer at St. Mary’s Church.
Elizabeth was known for her resilience, remaining in her own home until she turned 93 before moving to Shaker Place last year. She is survived by her sons David, James, and Thomas, her six grandchildren, and her great grandson. Family and friends gathered at St. Mary’s Church on July 31 for a visitation and Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary’s Church are appreciated.
